Gold remitted from India to the Gold Reserve Fund

The India Office Ways and Means show gold remitted from India to England for the Gold Reserve Fund of £3,967,362 (1900-01), £1,001,995 (1901-02), £497,207 (1902-03) and £3,997,128 (1903-04), Indian gold physically moving to London.

Ryotwari and mahalwari settlements

Madras and Bombay revenue settled directly with the ryot (cultivator) on a periodically revised assessment; North-Western Provinces and Punjab settled village-by-village (mahalwari) under Regulation IX of 1833 and the Punjab Land Revenue Act 1871/1887. Assessment revised at 20-30 year intervals, in principle to one-half of the 'net assets'.
